The Conference Planning Committee has been hard at work to plan another great conference
for you this year. This year’s Home and Family Conference will be held at the Sheraton Indianapolis
Hotel at Keystone Crossing June 4-6, 2018.
On Monday, the tour departs from the hotel at 9:30 a.m. on an exciting shop hop to a number
of resale and consignment venues. Shop for treasures for your wardrobe and be a feature in a RedCarpet
Resale Style Show that evening to show off your finds. A box lunch is included in the tour
and you will need to bring pocket money for your purchases. Light refreshments will be served
before the style show that evening. The i-LEaD program returns with Phase I Certification Classes
(Personal Leadership) being offered at no charge. If Heritage Skills are more your style, we have
classes on flat reed weaving, basic hand quilting, stained glass, alcohol ink art, creations from
Christmas cards and Preserving Memories with a needle.
Tuesday starts with breakfast before the Annual Business Meeting. Hear from our
organization’s leaders and elect our officers for next year. Following the meeting, lunch will be
offered before our afternoon sessions. The concurrent sessions include the President’s Round Table
and the Secretary/Treasurer Round Table and a Membership Jam. Other sessions include
information on Communication Difficulties in Stroke Survivors, Understanding Dementia, Reducing
Holiday Spending, Where Does the Money Go? Information about Coins for Friendship/Nickels for
Leadership, Gluten Basics, Human Trafficking, First Books and Suzy’s School of Style. Tuesday
evening, carpool with your friends to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church to enjoy a concert by the
Melody Makers of Indiana. Sign up on your registration form for your $5 tickets, as they are $10 at
Wednesday morning starts with brunch followed by our Keynote Speakers, The Looney
Lutherans. They will entertain us in a presentation entitled Livin’ La Vida Lutheran. You don’t
need to be a Lutheran to love ‘em! Lunch on your own will precede the afternoon sessions. This
will include information on Food labeling, Google Tools, Emergency Disaster Preparedness, the
Indiana Early Learning Foundation, ACWW 2016 Conference, What’s New in Tech, “I CAN,” Ready
to Serve Her Community, the “No Pain, No Gain” Motto and the Exchange Homemaker
Presentation. We will close out the 2018 Conference with a Gala Banquet and the installation of our
new IEHA President, Cindy Saferight.

be on display at Conference. If you attended the Conference last year, a registration form will be sent

rates will be in place until May 1, 2018, when the price increases. Room reservations can be made by
calling the Sheraton at Keystone Crossing and asking for the IEHA Conference room block or by
